We will be taking up our Share the Plate collection this week. Our Organization this month is:
Red Cross – Hawaii Wildfires Relief.
Chartered in Hawaii in 1917, the humanitarian work of the Red Cross actually began in Hawaii as early as 1898, during the Spanish American War. The Red Cross has played a vital role in helping the people of Hawaii recover from every major disaster, including hurricanes, landslides, floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and now wildfires.
Any cash that is put into the plate will be split 50/50 with the Red Cross. If you wish to write a check, please make it out to the American Red Cross. If a check is made out to First Parish, for instance, for your pledge, it will go to First Parish.
If you will be attending the service online, or wish to donate online, visit: https://www.redcross.org/donate/donation.html and select Hawaii Wildfire in the “I Want to Support” drop down menu.
