Each year while setting our annual budget, our congregation pledges our support to First Parish of Chelmsford’s community and outreach ministries for the fiscal year. This year our theme focuses on being a steadfast beacon of hope: Light the lantern, Be the signal light.
During our Sunday service 3/15/26 we reflected on the spiritual practice of generosity and how stewardship is an act of faith. We talked about what our generosity makes possible, how lives are transformed by First Parish, and how we can be a signal light as a congregation.
We are focused this year on generosity as a spiritual practice. Our plans for next year involve investing in worship – hiring a music director, and improving our audio-visual capabilities. We also are investing in our capacity for new programs and outreach focused on social justice and building community – additional staff hours to support our volunteers who lead teams and facilitate small groups. This results in a target increase in pledges of 16%. To make these visions a reality, we need to grow the number of parishioners who pledge, and we ask that if you pledged last year, you consider increasing the amount of your pledge. Please join us in investing in the work and ministry of First Parish for the upcoming fiscal year July 2026-June 2027 (FY27).
