Update from the COVID Task Force
Church leadership remains concerned about your health, safety, and connectedness as we manage through the pandemic.
We anticipate continuing with remote worship and programming for the next several months as a minimum. With the number of COVID cases rising throughout Massachusetts and with winter coming, we do not believe it is safe to start bringing large groups together in person.
Our church building remains closed with a few exceptions. In addition to staff members and a few volunteers, we are currently only allowing two AA groups to use the building. The daycare is not currently operating. The Task Force has created a requirements and policy document for building usage during COVID. Mask wearing, limited occupancy, social distancing and cleaning are all components of that document. Please contact Jess Volk, our building and events coordinator, if you wish to meet in the building so she can guide you through these protocols.
Looking to the future, the COVID Task Force continues to review how we would re-open the church safely, determining when and how we meet again in person.
This task force is your point of contact for any ideas or questions you might have related to COVID and crisis management at First Parish. We welcome your suggestions, questions and concerns on how best to honor our covenant during this pandemic. Please use the email address below.
The COVID Task Force members are: Dolores Heredia-Wood, Rev. Ellen Spero, Gail Burati, Jim Curley, Michelle Hillman, Steve Zocchi. and Tom Coffey.
