Regular services are on Sunday at 10:45 AM, and are conducted by Rev. Ellen Rowse Spero unless otherwise noted. Summer Services take place in the Chapel from 9:00 until 9:30 or 9:45, followed by refreshments in the Alliance Parlor.
Nursery child care is available throughout the worship service. You may bring your child to the nursery before the service or take him/her there at any time during the service. The ushers, or anyone with a yellow name tag, can assist you if you are unsure of how to get to the nursery/RE classrooms.
Please note that, just in case R.E. plans change, signs are clearly posted as to where your children should begin their morning.
Snow Emergency Service Cancellation Policy
In the event of a snow storm, the chair of the Standing Committee (Debra Grad) and Rev. Ellen will confer and make a decision by 8 a.m. Sunday morning as to whether to hold services. There will be notice of a closure on the church’s main answering machine (978-256-5133), and on the WBZ storm center (TV Channel 4 and WBZ AM radio 1030).. We will also try to get the word out via email and the website, but we cannot guarantee this.
When in doubt, please choose safety over New England pride. --- Rev. Ellen
Early Worship Service - Rev. Ellen will be continuing to lead a shorter and more informal worship service at 9:30 am on most Sundays for RE teachers and for others who cannot attend the full service at 10:45. Dates without early worship service are indicated below.
This service runs about 30 minutes and includes a chalice lighting, time for sharing joys and sorrows, the sermon, and the benediction. Please note that we will be meeting in the Sanctuary this year, so that the Intermediate Choir can rehearse in the Chapel.

There are many, many opportunities for you to volunteer to participate in our Sunday services for the entire coming year. Please sign up on the bulletin board next to the coffee makers, or call the office at 978-256-5133 and leave a message. Thank you!
-- Light the chalice, with a brief (1-2 minute) reflection or reading. If you need help picking a reading, our minister can suggest resources--or use the chalice lightings at the back of the hymnal. Also check chalice lightings on UUA web site.
-- Provide social hour (coffee, tea, & juice for the children); if you’ve never done it, contact a Parish Affairs person (see the sign-up list) to be teamed with a more experienced person. Directions for doing coffee hour are also provided on the sign-up bulletin board.
-- Greet people with a friendly word and help newcomers meet people or find someone to answer their questions (contact the Membership Committee Chairperson, if you haven’t greeted before; printed instructions are available). Greeting is not the same as ushering, by the way!
-- Provide flowers for Sunday worship. You can bring flowers or arrange to have them delivered. Please be aware that you need to sign up to provide flowers--you can’t call and assume your chosen Sunday will be available, because someone else may have signed up already!
-- Do a Reading in the service, or even participate more fully in a lay-led service. Sign up as a lay reader and you will be contacted by the minister or a member of the Worship Committee when they need readers for a service.
