First Parish Church regularly collects non-perishable food for the Open Pantry of Greater Lowell. The Open Pantry serves not only Lowell, but also Chelmsford, Westford, Billerica, Dracut, and the entire surrounding Greater Lowell area.
Dont have time or cant shop? You can also help by sending a check.

What, Where, When
WHAT? Checks, cash, and non-perishables only! No microwavables (most are lucky to have an oven/range) and avoid anything beyond the basics.
Open Pantry points out that financial donations go a very long way, as they can get many items inexpensively in bulk from their suppliers. However, they still welcome the traditional canned goods, etc.
The Most Useful Donations:
WHERE? Place your bags in the chapel hallway corner.
WHEN? Once a month there will be a collection. Dates are published in The Shooting Star, at the bottom of this page and in the online calendar, and via email reminders. This does not mean that you cannot bring in your non-perishables at any other time. Just call ahead to make sure that the church will be open and drop it/them off whenever it is convenient for you to do so. If you miss a collection date, dont worry. If its non-perishable, it shouldnt matter, and will be delivered next time!
CHECKS are always welcome, payable to "Open Pantry". On the left, bottom corner, write "First Parish UU Chelmsford" or just "FPUU", so they know its from us. You can find envelopes in the mailbox near Cindys office, and drop them in Cindys office, or mail directly to:
