Jeanne Thompson, Chair
The Finance Study Committee was established by the Standing Committee in April of 2003 to study the organization and reporting structures of committees and church officers involved in raising, planning and managing our church finances and investments. The work involves investigating how well our existing structure serves our communication needs and studying UUA recommendations and other church models for the best fit for our church.
The goal is to determine the best organizational structure to enhance communication and long-range planning, to enable all financial entities to work more closely in anticipating both Capital/Building needs, and future program and operational needs.
The committee is intended to be a short term (up to 2 years) with intention of making a recommendation to the Standing Committee in 2004 and to assist the Standing Committee in rewriting the church by-laws to bring before the congregation when and if a new structure is recommended.
We meet every 3rd Wednesday of the month at the church at 7:15 and welcome new members who have an interest in the financial well-being of our church.
