The Accessibility Building Project (ABP) is in full swing. The Accessibility Building Project team will be holding 3 Cottage Meetings in: Sunday March 12th 11:30am, Sunday March 26th at 11:30am or Tuesday March 28th 7pm (this is a date change from March 21st). Attend one of more to discuss overall project status, latest capital campaign amount and financing options.
In terms of the construction schedule for the ABP, the Standing Committee (SC) talked through some of the factors influencing the timeline. One of those being the importance of timing construction so it minimally impacts worship and faith formation (us!), the Open Door Nursery School, and Table of Plenty. The continuation of these activities requires working restrooms. The SC agreed that maintaining the usability of the church during the church year is a high priority, as is protecting the space for our major users. The Accessibility Design Team was able to work with the architect to create a construction staging plan that guarantees working bathrooms at all times by building the new ones before removing the existing ones. The downside is that that this will involve more parking spaces being turned into construction staging in our already small parking lot. Good thing we are willing to be flexible about temporary disturbances like that!
